How do I download and install a program?

Step 1 – Create a download directory

Start by establishing good habits. Organizing your download files will help. Let’s start by creating a new folder (directory) called C:\Downloads for your use.

Using Windows Explorer: highlight your C: drive, and then click on these menu items, one after the other: File | New |Folder. When a folder entitled New Folder is created, rename it Downloads.

Note: A word about distinguishing between Windows Explorer and Microsoft Internet Explorer. Windows Explorer is the system tool that helps you examine and access your entire computer; files; directories; drives; desktop, etc. In contrast, Microsoft Internet Explorer is the browser you can use to surf the Web.

Step 2 – Download a file using your browser

To begin downloading click on the Download link on the program’s main page. Here’s what to expect once you click that link. After you click the Download link a small window will open and ask you, “What would you like to do with this file? or something similar. Simply click on the Save to disk or Save choice, and then click OK. Make a note, mental or otherwise, of the name of the file. You will need to know this for Step 3.

When the familiar Save As window appears, use it to navigate to your newly created C:\Downloads folder and click Save. Watch and wait until the file has finished downloading.

Step 3 – Install your program

Now go back to Windows Explorer and click on the download directory you created in Step 1. You will see the file you just downloaded listed in the right-hand side of the window. Double-click on the file to begin the installation. Just follow the prompts that come up during installation. Once it’s installed, you’ll be prompted to click Finish.

Step 4 – Run your program

To start using the program you have just installed, click on the Start menu at the bottom left of your Windows desktop. Expand the Programs menu option and click on the icon for the program.

What is Demo Mode?

You can download, install and try any of our programs before you buy. We suggest that you do to be sure the program is what you are looking for.

All of our programs are installed in Demo Mode. Until licensed the words DEMO MODE will be superimposed over the printed title strips and title cards.

To get out of the Demo Mode you need to enter your license code. If you purchased the program on CD the license code is on the back of the CD sleeve. If you purchased the download the license code was sent to you via email.

There is no difference between the Demo Mode and the Licensed program except for the above mentioned printing limitation. If you install the program before getting a license code you will not need to download it and install it again.

Printing on plain paper vs. preprinted, perforated sheets?

All of our programs allow you to print title strips and cards on plain paper stock or perforated sheets.

Plain paper stock considerations:

Advantages
  1. Easier alignment on the paper.
  2. Use any background image for the strips. JukeBox only
  3. Costs less.
Disadvantages
  1. Need to cut out the strips and cards by hand.
  2. Use more ink printing the title strip background. JukeBox only

Perforated sheet considerations:

Advantages
  1. Easier separation of the strips and cards.
  2. Use less ink when printing. JukeBox only
Disadvantages
  1. Initial alignment may be more complicated than plain paper.
  2. Cost more.
  3. Limited to the background image printed on the strip. JukeBox only

Both methods produce great looking title strips and cards for your jukebox.

Where can I get preprinted title strips for my 45 RPM juke box?

While JukeBox will print on plain paper, many users prefer to print on perforated sheets that have the background image already on the title strip. We do not sell these preprinted sheets.

We suggest contacting Always Jukin’ magazine. They sell perforated sheets with or without the background image.
